Terms of Service
Last updated: June 13, 2026
In short: PaletteCSS is a free tool for discovering and sharing color palettes and gradients. You’re welcome to use any palette in your personal and commercial work, free and without attribution. In return, please submit only your own genuine work, don’t abuse the Service, and understand that it’s provided “as is”.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you and PaletteCSS (“we”, “us”, or “our”) governing your access to and use of the website at https://palettecss.com and all related features (the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service. By using PaletteCSS, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
3. Description of Service
PaletteCSS is a free online platform that allows users to discover, share, and copy color palettes and CSS gradients for use in design and development projects. The Service includes:
- Browsing, searching, and filtering curated color palettes and gradients
- Submitting original palettes and gradients for community display
- Copying color values in multiple formats (hex, RGB, CSS, Tailwind, SCSS)
- Liking and locally saving favorite palettes and gradients
No account or registration is required to use the Service.
4. Sessions Instead of Accounts
PaletteCSS does not use traditional accounts. Instead, an anonymous session identifier and local browser storage are used to remember features such as your likes and submissions. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your device and session. Clearing your browser data may reset these preferences.
5. User Submissions & Content License
When you submit a palette, gradient, or other content to PaletteCSS:
- You grant PaletteCSS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, display, reproduce, distribute, adapt, and promote your submission as part of the Service.
- You confirm that the submission is your original work, or that you otherwise have the right to submit it and to grant the license above.
- You retain ownership of your underlying creative work; the license above does not transfer ownership.
- You understand that all submissions are subject to moderation and may be edited, rejected, or removed at our discretion.
6. Content Standards
All submissions and contributions must:
- Represent genuine, original creative work
- Be free of spam, advertising, or misleading tags
- Not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party
- Not contain unlawful, hateful, harassing, or otherwise objectionable material
Note: individual color combinations are generally not protected by copyright, but we ask that all submissions reflect your own honest creative effort.
7. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Submit spam, automated, bulk, or duplicate content
- Circumvent or interfere with rate limiting, moderation, or spam detection
- Scrape, crawl, or harvest content or data without our prior written permission
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure
- Introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code
- Submit content that is illegal, infringing, or violates these Terms
8. Intellectual Property
The PaletteCSS website — including its design, layout, code, branding, logo, and original content — is owned by PaletteCSS and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Palettes and gradients submitted by users remain associated with their respective creators.
You may not copy, reproduce, or repurpose the PaletteCSS website, source code, or design without our prior written permission.
9. Using Palettes & Gradients
You are free to use any color palette or gradient found on PaletteCSS in your personal and commercial design projects — including websites, apps, branding, and print — free of charge and without attribution. You may not, however, resell or redistribute the PaletteCSS collection itself as a standalone product or dataset.
10. Advertising & Affiliate Links
The Service is supported by advertising via Google AdSense and may contain affiliate links to third-party products and services. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or practices of any advertised or linked third party. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. See our Privacy Policy for details.
11. Moderation & Removal
We reserve the right, but assume no obligation, to review, moderate, edit, or remove any content at any time and for any reason, including content that we believe violates these Terms or may expose us or others to liability.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PaletteCSS and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PaletteCSS and its operators from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your submissions, or your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to the Service or other users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.
16. Changes to the Service
We are continually improving PaletteCSS and may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
17. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
18. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Where permitted, any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first and, failing that, through binding arbitration or the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
19. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PaletteCSS regarding the Service.
